Privacy policy
Last updated 22 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data August Marketing collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers our website, our booking process and the text messages we send about booked calls.
Who we are
August Marketing is a performance marketing agency trading from the United Kingdom. August Marketing is the brand that sends the text messages described in this policy. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at seb@augustmarketing.co.uk.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you, run a booked call and deliver work you have asked for.
- Booking details. Your name, email address, mobile number, website, and the revenue and advertising spend ranges you select when you book a call with us.
- Correspondence. Emails and messages you send us, and our replies.
- Business contact details. For outbound business-to-business contact, publicly listed company email addresses and the public advertising activity of a brand.
- Website usage. Standard server logs and basic analytics about pages visited. We do not use our website to build advertising profiles of individuals.
Text messages about your booked call
If you give us a mobile number when you book a call, we use it to send you a small number of text messages about that call: a confirmation when you book, a reminder the day before, and reminders three hours and one hour before the call. Message frequency is approximately four messages per booked call. Message and data rates may apply.
You can stop these at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or email seb@augustmarketing.co.uk. We honour an opt-out immediately and permanently.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information is sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent is not shared with any third party, other than the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf.
How consent is collected, word for word, is published at augustmarketing.co.uk/sms-consent.
Why we are allowed to use it
For booking and delivering a call, and for the text messages described above, our lawful basis is your consent and the steps you have asked us to take before entering a contract. For business-to-business outreach, our lawful basis is legitimate interests: contacting a business about a service relevant to its advertising. You can object to that at any time and we will stop.
How long we keep it
Booking and call records are kept for three years so we have a record of what was discussed and agreed. Opt-out records are kept indefinitely, because the only way to honour an opt-out permanently is to remember it. Client work is kept for as long as we work together and for six years afterwards where tax and accounting rules require it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. Email seb@augustmarketing.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes to how we use text messages will be notified to anyone who has opted in before they take effect.
